Thanks for voting my group practice, Vista Massage & Wellness Studio, as one of Indiana's Best Local Businesses on WRTV's A*List!  We're thrilled, flattered & grateful!!!

Here is a Descriptive Listing of the Various Massage/Bodywork Therapies & Spa Treatments for   which I Have Training:

Massage Therapy Options~
"Sweet Surrender" Swedish Massage~
It's sometimes thought of as only a "relaxation" massage (like that's a bad thing?!) because of its long, gliding strokes & thorough kneading, but a Swedish Massage is also so much more.  This popular style incorporates relaxing, rhythmic strokes of light to medium pressure and depth.  Since skin is our largest bodily organ, massaging it sets up a chain reaction that produces a positive effect on all layers & systems of the body.  It affects the nerves, muscles and glands, promoting general health & well-being. Benefits include improved circulation, muscle tone & joint flexibility, plus an overall sense of relaxation leading to an improved mind, body, spirit connection.  Many people have begun to incorporate weekly Swedish Massage sessions as a vital element of their ongoing stress relief regimen.  Don't be surprised if you find yourself longing for the calm & comfort offered by this "much kneaded" type of massage after just one session!  Practically guaranteed to make you say "aaahhhhhh...."

"U Need Me 2 Knead U" Blended Massage~
Classic bodywork techniques, such as Swedish, Acupressure, moderate Deep Tissue Massage & Reiki Energy Healing are blended together in this restorative massage. The goal of Blended Therapeutic massage is to work out specific areas of pain or tension found in the client, as well as, inducing a state of calm relaxation. This is the most commonly requested type of massage session at Daydreams.

"Two of a Kind" Couples Massage~ Have you ever commiserated with a mate or friend about how stressed out you both are?  Well, now you can double the relaxation by bringing along a companion to share a restful break from the craziness of everyday life!  Couples Massages take place at the same time in peaceful side-by-side rooms--while I'm providing one session, the other will be given by another talented Certified Massage Therapist from Vista Massage Therapy Group (the cooperative massage practice I'm a part of).  It's a wonderful way for both parties to experience an oasis of calm in the midst of a hectic day.

"Mum's the Word" with  a Nurturing Pre-Natal Massage~ Pregnancy places strong demands on a woman's body, making it an ideal time for her to be cared for and pampered.  This gentle technique, given as the expectant mother rests in a side-lying position, is designed to relieve tension & aches from the extra weight and shift in the center of gravity, reduce swelling, soothe the nervous system, lessen fatigue and even enhance energy.  Circulation is also improved, aiding the supply of vital nutrients and oxygenated blood to both mommy & child.  These benefits provide comfort & well-being for mother and baby-on-the way.   Prenatal Massage is also acts as a natural way to ease body aches since women are discouraged from taking traditional pain-relievers during pregnancy.

Finally and foremost, the therapy sessions also provide emotional support giving the expectant mother a chance to unburden her worries, fears and other anxieties.  After the first trimester, a series of prenatal massage sessions are recommended every 2-4 weeks so that the cumulative effects have a chance to take hold & become more profound.  Some women even find that this can help ease the experience of delivery by preparing the muscles for release & support during childbirth, bringing about a shorter, less complicated labor.  For an appreciative momma-to-be the chance to be pampered with nurturing touch makes this one "mother" of a massage!

PS~ New Mommies should be sure to come back shortly after the delivery of their new little one.  Having regular treatments, after the childbirth, can help bring back the feeling of "being your normal self" again. By encouraging corrective posture, balancing the hormone and energy levels, improving muscle tone and relieving aches, pains and stiffness (often caused by poor posture while breast feeding or from your upper body adjusting to holding your new baby).

"Better Belly" Body Butter Rub~ Say that 3 times fast!  Although the name is a tongue-twister, this service is ideal for ladies who desire to take the nurturing to the next level during a prenatal session or even for clients with PMS cramping, IBS or other abdominal issues.  This soothing stomach massage incorporates rhythmic kneading and soft circular strokes, along with your choice of Cocoa Butter Cream, Body Butter or scented essential oils.  Many women believe that regular use of Cocoa Butter minimizes the appearance of stretch marks on their torso (hooray!)--plus it feels incredibly soothing when applied through gentle massage.  Your tummy will treasure this tranquil treatment!

"Bundle of Joy" Infant/Toddler Massage~ Daydreams offers a baby massage with TLC that has many benefits for both parents and children. The relationship between a parent and baby is enhanced and strengthened through the nurturing touch of infant massage. Parents often find that their baby sleeps better, fusses less and gains more weight, when massaged regularly.  Having a relaxed & well-adjusted tot makes life less stressful for new parents, too.  Helps your new little one to sleep like...a baby!

"Rock" Your World with Healing Hot Stone Therapy~
This full-body technique uses lava rocks warmed to about 150 degrees, which act as a type of natural "heating pad".  A number of stones are set in stationary positions along the spine.  Then the therapist gently guides others along the body while exerting light pressure on the rocks, bestowing a sensation of tightly knotted muscles "melting" away into oblivion.  If you'd like to try this uniquely relaxing experience, go ahead...request yours "on the rocks"!

Be a "Team Player" with a Sports Massage~ This special form of massage is typically used before or after athletic events to prepare the athlete for peak performance, to drain away fatigue, relieve swelling, reduce muscle tension, promote flexibility & prevent injuries.  Depending on the needs of the athlete, a variety of techniques are used, including classic Swedish strokes, cross-fiber friction, pressure-point work and joint mobilization.  This massage is of great benefit to athletic persons. It may also benefit people who may have gained problems through occupational hazards or people who are being troubled by past injuries.  No need for steroids...this work gives you a "performance enhancement" advantage of the legal sort!

"Please Be Seated" Chair Massage~
When a twenty or thirty minute relaxation session is needed, this is the technique for you.  You are massaged fully clothed in a special chair designed to relax you.  Because the chair is completely portable, you may see chair massage at the airport or health club, or you may want a practitioner to come to your business or office to massage the staff or guests at a party.  Pressure ranges from light to medium. So get off your feet and come have a "seat" in a Daydreams Massage chair today!

"Bodywork from around the Globe~

"Thai One On" with Thai Yoga Massage~ An interactive bodywork treatment using passive stretching, along with gentle pressure along chi energy lines.  This ancient form dates back to the time of Buddha and looks like a cross between Shiatsu, Acupressure & Yoga.  Practitioners apply pressure along meridian lines using their thumbs, hands & feet to stimulate the flow of energy in the body, and in addition, move and stretch clients into Yoga-like poses to free muscular and joint tension.  Designed to be both relaxing & stimulating, Thai massage improves flexibility, reduces tension, stimulates internal organs and balances the body's energy system.  Discover increased flexibility by getting Thai'd into a knot!

"Sole to Soul" Fijian Barefoot Massage~ They say the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step & this exotic modality proves it!  Developed by American Lolita Knight after years of living among & observing natives of the Fiji Islands, this technique utilizes the weight of a therapist's legs & feet to apply a deep, even pressure along the back and limbs.  Despite how it may sound, Fijian Barefoot Massage doesn't actually involve walking on the back!  Instead, the client, wearing comfy clothing, rests on a special floor mat with support cushions while the practitioner massages the body one "step" at a time.  During a visit, the therapist may stand or recline for balance, as they use one foot at a time for kneading, firm compressions and gentle acupressure.  This work, which is designed to ease muscular tightness, is effective for sufferers of chronic pain or trigger points since it offers myofascial release and soothes hypertonic muscles.  Fijian Massage is highly recommended for athletes as an alternative to traditional Sports Massage.  It's also great for those who like firm pressure since it's possible to derive more direct power through the feet than with conventional Deep Tissue methods using hands & arms. Step right up & try it today!

Discover Your "Inner-Chi/Energy" through Reiki Energy Work~
Reiki (pronounce ray-kee) means "universal life energy."  Practitioners trained to access chi life force, place their hands near the client to activate healing energy through receptive chakra points in the body.  The therapist’s hands move with a passive touch along various energy channels along the body, remaining in each position for 3-5 minutes.  As the energy flow is strengthened, a sense of harmonious physical, mental and spiritual balance occurs.  May the healing force be with you!

~Spectacular Spa Treatment~

"Sugar & Spice" Exfoliating Sugar Scrub/ Salt Glow~ Salt glows and sugar scrubs are very popular spa body treatments. The primary purpose of this service is to exfoliate the top layers of dead skin from many areas of the body except for the face.  This spa treatment is often followed by an application of body lotion or massage cream, which gives your skin a sensation of softness, hydration and fragrance.  Sugar Scrubs/Salt Glows can be given on their own or in addition to other services, such as a Swedish Relaxation Massage.  A true treat for the skin that will leave it moisturized, satiny-smooth & with a healthy glow!

~Facial/Head Massage Options~

"Save Face" European Facial~ Gentle treatment for your face, designed to remove dirt, oil & make-up and leave your skin glowing. This type of facial, which emphasizes the use of natural products, rather than harsh chemical ingredients, brings out your skin's own natural radiance. The multi-step process involves cleansing, exfoliation, application of a gel mask & a mineral mask and last, but not least, a moisturizing cream. This refreshing 45-minute service also includes the use of moist/hot towels, aromatherapy & massage to the face, scalp and neck. Sure to put a smile on your face!

"Face Value" Chinese Facial Massage~ These techniques (originally taught by a Chinese doctor) are designed to help reduce the appearance of fine lines, tone the skin and ease tension throughout the face, scalp & jaw muscles by activating 16 separate acupressure points along the head and hands. Clients with a history of headaches, Bell's Palsy, TMJ, sinus issues or facial tics are wonderful candidates for this type of therapeutic facial massage.   This is also a popular alternative for anyone considering a more drastic approach to looking younger. Noticeable differences can usually be seen after just one session, with more lasting results occurring over a series of regular visits. More natural & affordable than Botox, plus it feels good!

"Heavenly" Indian Head Massage~
Indian Head Massage originates from the ancient healing system known as Ayurveda. Although the name would lead one to believe that the massage focuses entirely on the head and scalp, a full treatment, also includes invigorating & rejuvenating strokes to the upper back, shoulders and face. Those areas are massaged in a gentle, but firm rhythmic fashion at specific acupressure points, resulting in improved circulation, rebalanced energy and release of stress or strain.

This form of massage can be used to relieve eyestrain, insomnia, migraines, tension headaches & stiff neck/shoulders. A practitioner may also use traditional essential oils, thought to have various therapeutic properties, such as relaxing and toning facial muscles, as well as, stimulating and nourishing the hair and scalp.

Indian Head Massage is a revitalizing treatment frequently used to relieve stress and tension. . A complete session commonly brings about a sensation of peace and contentment. This uplifting service lasts 20-30 minutes and can be given on its own or makes a nice companion to Massage or foot treatments, such as Thai Foot Massage or Reflexology.

~Foot Treatment Options~

"Neat Feet" Pampering Foot Spa Treatment~ This rejuvenating treatment involves submersing both feet in warm water inside a vibrating foot spa. After several moments of soaking, an exfoliation scrub is applied to remove toughened skin, followed by a moisturizing lotion to provide a hydrating and softening effect to the feet.  This service is guaranteed to turn your tired tootsies into "happy feet!"

"Put Your Best Foot Forward" Reflexology~
An acupressure type technique performed on the hands and/or feet. It is based on the ancient Oriental theory that meridian lines or pathways carry energy throughout the body. Because each zone or part of the body has a corresponding reflex point on the feet, stimulating that reflex point causes stimulation in the natural energy of the related organ. Crystalline-type deposits or tender spots indicate a dysfunction and pressure is applied to clear the congestion and restore normal functioning & health. A real treat for the feet!

"Fit to be Thai'd" Thai Foot Massage~ Our feet may be the most abused area of our body, and since they're directly connected to every other body part through reflex points, a good Thai Foot Massage not only makes your tootsies feel great, it also promotes healing & relaxation throughout the body.

This form of massage involves stretching, acupressure and rubbing the feet and lower legs. The movements are performed along the body's energy lines and are believed to stimulate activity of the internal organs. By triggering the reflex points that activate natural healing impulses, Thai Foot Massage may be very beneficial for optimal internal health and general well-being.  This treatment has been utilized for centuries among cultures which honor a mind-body connection as a holistic way to relieve stress, promote restful sleep, increase circulation, boost alertness and creativity & even help support a healthy immune system.
Although this shares some similarities with Reflexology (see above), Thai Foot Massage uses many movements unique to this style, and also encompasses massage of the calves, ankles & knees, in addition to the feet.

Traditional Thai Yoga Massage (see description earlier on this page) and Thai Foot Massage compliment each other beautifully.  Thai Yoga Massage balances the elements of the mind and body, while Thai Foot Massage stimulates the internal organs, giving the client a gentle holistic treatment.

~Aromatherapy Options~

"Aromahhh...therapy" Essential Oils may be added to any Session~ This simple therapy of using essential oils for curative & rejuvenating effects has been used for centuries to reduce stress & tension, refresh and invigorate the body, clear the mind & sooth the emotions. Specific essential oils are used in conjunction with other appropriate techniques, such as massage, acupressure & reflexology. The oils are absorbed through the skin and into the body to affect physiological change. When inhaled, aromas directly affect the limbic area of the brain that's related to emotion & memory. Aromatherapy "makes good scents"!

"Scent-sational" Aromatherapy Station~ There's no need for your peace of mind to end as soon as your session ends.  Before you leave my massage studio, consider indulging yourself by selecting a "to-go" vial of an enchanting Aromatherapy blend of your choice to take home with you.  Then whenever you feel yourself becoming stressed-out at home or work in between Daydreams appointments, just dab a bit of a soothing or rejuvenating essential oil on your wrists & temples or pour a few drops of scented oils in a warm bath to perk up your mood!  Aromatherapy calms the mind, soothes the body & lifts the spirit.  BRAND NEW OFFERING!

"Common Scents" Aromatherapy Wrap-Up~
Surround yourself with warmth and scent...this soothing technique uses a series of warm herbal wraps, which act as fragrant heating pads for various areas of the body. This treatment can be requested on its own or may also be i
ntegrated with other services, such as Massage Therapy, Raindrop Therapy, Body Wrap, Reflexology or Foot Spa Treatment.

The scented wraps include an aromatic drape for the neck and shoulders, a large fragrant spinal cushion, a mint-scented pad & a lavender eye pillow. Upon being
heated, the natural healing properties within these herbal wraps are released, helping to ease persistent muscle aches, clear sinuses, relieve headaches & more. Once the cozy herbal pads are put into place, a gentle massage will be administered to the hands, feet and scalp.   A very comforting way to make your aches & pains melt away!

"Raindrops on Roses..." Raindrop Therapy Massage~
An incredibly intoxicating aromatherapy treatment!  This very gentle neck and back massage is combined with fragrant essential oils & energetic healing techniques.  The oils are dispensed like drops of rain from several inches above the back & massaged along the vertebrae. This application technique creates an intense relaxation response designed to bring balance to the body.  It also helps to align and clear energy centers in the body without using excessive pressure. Although the entire process takes about 1 hour to complete, the oils will continue to work in the body for 5 to 7 days bringing harmony to the body physically, mentally & emotionally. Raindrop Therapy is not a cure-all or a magic bullet. A healthy body is the result of a well-rounded program of proper diet and exercise. Health is everything we do, say, hear, see and eat. Raindrop Therapy is only one tool to help restore a balance in the body resulting in good health; it's perfect for easing emotional changes & rejuvenating a fatigued mind.

                      ~Contouring Body Wraps~

   "That's a Wrap!" Contouring Body Wrap~
I use M'lis Natural Body Wrap products, which provide the following benefits:   Skin Moisturizing, Detoxification, Skin Firming and Cellulite Reduction.  Contour wraps are increasingly popular in today's body-conscious society because of their impressive results.  Most clients experience inch loss of 4-10" after their first wrap!  Receiving regular wraps helps diminish the appearance of cellulite, giving a more toned look over time.

Please bring a sports bra & underwear or bikini bottoms to change into for your Body Wrap appointment.  If you request it, a series of measurements can be taken at the beginning of the visit, including arms, waist, hips, thighs & ankles.  After that, the herbal cream and wrap will be applied.  Once the wrap is in place, you'll lie down on a heated massage table for an hour as the contour cream works its magic.  During this "down-time" you may add on extra pampering services with the Body Wrap & Beyond or Body Wrap Bliss Spa Packages.  (Please see "Pricing" page for more details.)   Aside from being quite
relaxing, these treatments also maximize a wrap's benefits by stimulating your circulatory and lymphatic system, assisting with detoxification & promoting inch loss!

For those that request it, measurements will be retaken once has been removed to determine your total inch loss.  Follow-up measuring will then be done after every 5th wrap.   Because the M'lis products smell so good, no showering is needed afterward. For best results, do not shave the day of before the wrap to avoid skin sensitivity. Since the procedure is not dehydrating, it can be done as often as once a week. Desired results are typically achieved by having a wrap done monthly.  For more info on Body Wraps or to view Frequently Asked Questions, please visit www.mlis-online.com.
